What is Ramayana Part 1 about?
Under the direction of Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana Part 1 reimagines the ancient epic about Rama’s life with sweeping cinematic flair and emotional depth. Tiwari, acknowledging the immense responsibility of conveying the epic teachings from Rama’s life story, stated this is a story “we haven’t seen in the form it deserves to be told.”
The film delves into the early years of Rama - his virtues, brotherly bonds, and the inciting events that shaped his destiny. There are plenty of versions of the Ramayana out there, from daily soaps to movies, but the creators thought it was important to make one that really does justice to the story. This new version will feature amazing visual effects that are perfect for IMAX and will tell the story in a way that really connects emotionally. Their goal is to spread Rama’s teachings around the world.
In a World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit, producer Namit Malhotra said, "The way we want to go about it is to make it feel local to people in the world. Again, with the use of some technology, we are trying to make sure that we will be able to localise the film in languages with performance, which means that it should play in English with lip sync without subtitles or dubbed versions, because it should be in English. It should be in Spanish; it should be in Japanese in Japan."
Star Cast of Ramayana: Part 1
The upcoming Ramayana: Part 1, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, boasts a powerful ensemble led by Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash in the role of Ravana. Sunny Deol embodies the mighty Hanuman, while Ravi Dubey takes on the devoted Lakshman.
Except for these superstars, the film also features renowned personalities like Kajal Aggarwal as Queen Mandodari, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, and Arun Govil as King Dasharath, while Amitabh Bachchan lends his voice to Jatayu. This all-star lineup sets the stage for a grand, emotionally resonant portrayal of the beloved epic.
