Punjab has been dealing with excessive hot weather and heat waves for a long time now, but recently, it has been expected that the weather will turn pleasant with light to moderate rainfall accompanied by strong winds.
According to the information shared by Dr Kulwinder Kaur Gill, a weather scientist at Punjab Agriculture University, Ludhiana, the state will be seeing a weather change in the upcoming days, and this prediction by her has been shared on the basis of the latest update by the Indian Meteorology Department (IMD).
Along with this, the weather scientist has also shared a special appeal to farmers as temperature will show variations during the upcoming period. Dr Gill has highlighted that noticeable changes will be reported in temperature of both day and night.
While sharing the latest update about the temperature, she outlined that mercury reached around 40°C, whereas the night temperature is recorded at 26°C. Furthermore, she pointed out that the humidity level during the afternoon has dropped to nearly 50%.
However, from May 1 to 3, 2025, the weather will change, and the state is expected to experience rain and strong winds, bringing relief from the heat.
With this information, she has also asked the farmers to be a bit more cautious about their crops during this time as the crops are yet to be harvested, and farmers might bear losses if weather changes.
Dr Gill has also asked the public to take precautions and avoid doing unsafe practices during such times as unforeseen incidents may occur.
