Salman Khan's growing popularity in the 1990s affected the way Kurbaan was created, and he and Sunil Dutt became "background music," according to Kabir Bedi.

Salman Khan's fame in the early 1990s had an impact on senior actors at the time, according to actor Kabir Bedi. Bedi, who released his autobiography earlier this year, talked about his experiences of working in the 1991 film Kurbaan with legendary actors Sunil Dutt and Salman Khan.

“I'd watched Dutt saab in Mother India and I was like, ‘Oh my God, what an actor,'” Bedi said in his autobiography, ‘Stories I Must Tell.' When I arrived in Bombay, I went to see him and told him, "Dutt saab, now my boyhood fantasy of seeing you has been realised." Then a producer approached me and said, "They've got a film called Kurbaan in which Dutt saab and I have to portray two giants in a village who are going to battle." Bedi was speaking at the Times LitFest in Mumbai when he said, "And that would be a fantastic clash of titans.”

The producer also intended to recruit a fresh actor to perform a couple songs, according to Bedi. Bedi was asked for recommendations by the producer. “I'd heard Salim Khan's son Salman Khan had started acting and was gaining quite a reputation,” he remembered. So that's how they signed Salman, who had only recently begun his career.”

“Bollywood films, especially in those days, were shot under a sort of payment plan,” he said. They'd shoot a few days every month and the cycle would continue. A film used to take approximately two years to create, and while Salman was filming ‘Kurbaan,' four of his previous films were released and were superhits. The scenes in our movie were immediately transformed into a love story, and Dutt saab and I became the background music.”

Salman was seen promoting the book earlier this year. Salman had opened up about his life mistakes during one of his virtual meetings with Bedi.He stated,  “Everyone denies that.  I'm one of the people on the row in front of you. 'I haven't done this,' I always said. But it takes a lot of guts to admit, "Yes, I made this mistake, and I've attempted to correct it in this way."

The Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor also admitted that there have been occasions when he has apologised publicly. “There have been occasions when I have made mistakes,” Khan said. I've come to apologise. It's alright to make mistakes, but it's not okay to make the same mistakes over and over again.”
