In a shocking development, a Textile business famously known as 'Kurta-Pajama King', Sanjay Verma, was shot dead outside his well-known showroom, New Wear Well in Abohar, Punjab on Monday morning. The assailants, allegedly associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, ambushed Verma as he stepped out of his car around 10:15 AM. After Sanjay Verma's murder, an unverified social media post allegedly made from an account linked to Arshu Bishnoi of the Lawrence gang claimed responsibility.

Now, Sanjay Verma's brother has lambasted the Central Government over the killing of his brother. Sanjay Verma's brother questioned the Modi Government's link with Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and why his associates and he are enjoying a safe haven in Indian jails.

Notably, the Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar was among the people who visited Sanjay Verma's home.

Sanjay Verma's brother, who was heartbroken and in tears, said, "I don’t understand what kind of security this Central Government is talking about. What are they keeping these criminals for in Indian jails? Traders pay taxes to the Indian government. What do they get in return? Nothing but fear and insecurity. The government should collect taxes from these gangsters instead. The public only asks for two things, justice and security."

The family questioned how such a gruesome killing could happen despite repeated threats from the gang and why no strong action was taken even after multiple warnings. “The government takes heavy taxes from hardworking businessmen but does nothing to protect them. What’s the point of such governance if our lives are constantly under threat?” he said.

He also criticized what he termed as the "shelter being given to criminals like Lawrence Bishnoi" by the current administration.

“Why has the Central Government allowed a gangster like Lawrence Bishnoi to thrive? Why is he still running his gang from prison? Is the government protecting him? Modi ji, tell us—where is the safety for the public that pays taxes to you?” he asked bluntly.
