

In a joint operation of Border Security Forces (BSF) and Narcotics Control Cell (NCC), state police have discovered four packets of contraband items suspected to be heroin on Thursday inPunjab's Ferozepur.
The suspected packets weigh over 6kg and 1 kg sugar, i.e. total of 7kg.
According to BSF, “a joint operation of the BSF, a team from the Narcotics Control Cell (NCC), and Punjab Police was carried out ahead of the Border Security Fence in the area of BOPTapu and recovered four packets of contraband items suspected to be heroin, weighing approximately 6.610 kg and 1.135 kg sugar, total net weight – 7.945 kg, without packing material.”
This is the second recovery in the AOR of BOP Tapu since January 2021, when 7.050 kilogrammes of suspected heroin were discovered, bringing the total progressive seizure of suspected heroinin the Ferozepur area to 94.786 kilogrammes.
