India defeated Australia by eight wickets in the second Test at the Melbourne Cricket Cricket Ground on Tuesday. The four-Test series is now level at 1-1. Australia had won the first Test in Adelaide, also by eight wickets. After India won the boxing day test, Ravi Shastri called this victory of India as the biggest comeback in the history of World Cricket.

Interestingly, former Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar has also hailed Indian Cricket Team's performance, and the BCCI who few days before was slamming the ICC. Akhtar hailed the Character shown by Team India after they suffered a massive defeat in Adelaide. He said, "All out of 36, humiliating defeat, no presence of Virat Kohli, Mohammad Shami, Ishant Sharma, Rohit Sharma, then what team India will do? Team India will show its character. India has defeated Australia like someone beats someone in a gunny sack. This is called Team India. Characters are not made in crisis but they are exhibited."

Praising Ajinkya Rahane, Akhtar said, "Team India showcased their courage. Their three-star players did not score runs, still, Ravi Shastri and Ajinkya Rahane did a tremendous job. Ajinkya did his captainship silently, he made his fielding and bowling silently but today his success is making noise. He brought back Siraj who took 5 wickets (1st + 2nd innings). Unfortunately, Siraj's father was not able to see his son making his debut for Team India. He actually expressed his anger against Australia and gave a special tribute to his father. Gill is the batsman who will be great in the future."

Akhtar also praised BCCI and said, "India now have to win the series as they have the capacity, great captainship at the same time great sport system in which India has invested in the last 10 to 15 years. Perhaps we could learn one or two things from them about how to invest in the system and get the best guy out of the system. But unfortunately, we did not do that and they did that."
