In the year 2017, reports claimed Sidharth Shukla to be a drug addict, due to which he has been taking treatment in a rehab centre for two years. However, now the actor's gym trainer Sonu has rubbished these claims and said the deceased actor was associated with Brahmakumaris and not any rehab.

Sidharth Shukla and his mother Rita Shukla are ardent followers of the Brahmakumaris and their faith. Therefore, the actor's last rites involved the Brahmakumari rituals.

Speaking about how the actor’s last journey will be performed, Tapaswini Ben from Brahmakumaris had earlier informed that his body will be taken home from Cooper Hospital at 11 am and the Brahmakumaris would meditate, first and then other rituals will be done.

"Siddharth followed the Brahamkumari and studied the daily discourse so his last journey will have all of it."

Late Siddharth Shukla used to visit Brahma Kumari Center with his mother since childhood. He was disillusioned with worldly things from a very young age.

Brahmakumari Tapaswini Behen of Vile Parle Center in Mumbai confirmed the actor's association with them.

Sidharth was a regular visitor of the Brahmakumaris Vile Parle centre and was last seen there on Rakhi. Tapaswiniji said, "He came to our Vile Parle centre and our Yoginiji from that centre tied rakhi to him. He had also gone to the main centre of Mount Abu. He was a worshiper of Lord Shiva a lot.”

People perceived that Siddharth had anger issues but Tapaswinij dismissed it and said, "He never had anger issues and we have never seen it. He only played angry characters besides he left his body in his sleep so the question of anger does not arise.`` She further added that he was a good-hearted and honest person. She never felt that he was under stress regarding life. He had visited their centre before entering the Bigg Boss house to take blessings and then after winning the show revisited them.

The last rites of Siddharth Shukla were performed according to the customs of the Brahma Kumaris community. Describing the process of last rites here, Tapaswini Ben has said that the sisters sit around the body and meditation is performed.
