Sidhu Moose Wala’s father filed a police report in Mumbai, asking for the BBC documentary on his son to be banned as he thinks it could damage his reputation.
Balkaur Singh Sidhu wrote a complaint to the DGP of Maharashtra and the Juhu Police Station, saying that he learned that BBC World Service had planned to screen Sidhu Moose Wala’s documentary in Juhu on June 11, 2025 at 3 pm.
According to the reports, the documentary will uncover some facts about the Punjabi singer that the public has not heard of before.
The complaint said that the documentary will focus on the secrets of Sidhu Moose Wala, who was killed in 2022. The father of Sidhu Moose Wala alleged that this documentary might intend to smear his son’s good name.
He further pointed out that the accused are the people named in the FIR filed over his son’s murder.
BBC World Service released a three-part documentary called ‘Asian Network Stories: Sidhu Moose Wala’ featuring the singer. Bobby Friction guided the audience through the series to highlight Moose Wala’s musical origin, the famous collaborations, how he appeared politically, and the outcome of his tragedy.
On May 29, 2022, while on his way to Jawaharke village in Punjab’s Mansa district, he was fired and died from the injuries.
Goldy Brar, who is based in Canada, took credit for Sidhu Moose Wala’s killing. Brar, who knows the Lawrence Bishnoi gang well, claimed in a Facebook message that he killed the singer to get revenge for Vicky Middukhera’s death.
