Know why Special Operations Group Commandos deployed in Jalandhar

Strengthening the security arrangements in the city, Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Toor has posted a company of Special Operations Group (SOG) in the city. The Commandos were deployed after an unprecedented clash took place in Patiala on Friday.

Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Toor said, "the main objective is to maintain law and order in the city by controlling crime at all costs. The Commissionerate of Police was committed to the safety of the people of the city, which resulted in the deployment of specially trained and high-tech commandos in the city, who would regularly monitor the sensitive areas in the city."

"The authorities had been told that any negligence in maintaining law and order would not be tolerated at any cost. The police was for the service of the people and therefore all the officers and personnel should discharge their duties with full dedication, dedication and professionalism," he said further.

 
"The Gazetted Officers (GOs) of the Commissionerate have been directed to stay in the urban areas till 10 pm. Late evening and night duties were already being strictly enforced to curb anti-social activities and police personnel were already performing their duties with utmost readiness," he added.

Commissioner of Police Gurpreet Singh Toor also appealed to Jalandhar residents to co-operate in making the city crime-free and safe for all.
