As a result of loss to the Pakistan, South Africa's head coach, Mark Boucher, is hurt by the dual loss of the series. He said “I shoulder a great deal of responsibility, as I should. It's not something I'm afraid of. I'm hurting right now, and the rest of the management and coaching staff are as well. This has taken a lot of time and effort on our part. But don't worry, I'm not panicking just yet. I understand that we've had to deal with some difficult situations recently, and we'll keep working hard. I'm not going to make excuses for myself. We still have to try to win for whoever we put on the field, but it's been difficult. There have been several advantages. “With the opportunities that have been offered to them, a lot of guys have excelled,” he said. “It's given us a better understanding of our depth, so I have a good idea of a bigger squad we can look at”.

South Africa was defeated 2-1 in the ODI series and 3-1 in the T20 series. “We need to reassemble our team to get all of our players fit and ready to play. The West Indian trip was always earmarked as the time when our whole team needed to be together. Now is the time to start looking at World Cups and putting together a formula that we want to play. It's just a matter of bringing everyone together and getting them used to each other, and eventually getting them used to win a couple of games together” Boucher said.

South Africa's head coach, Mark Boucher, said the team's loss in the recent ODI and T20I series against Pakistan at home has "hurt" him. The final two T20I matches of the series were played without South Africa's core group of players, who had left to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL).
