JalandharCentral MLA Rajinder Beri on Wednesday sanctioned a grant of Rs 5 lakh forsetting up a sports canteen in Raizada Hansraj Badminton stadium.

Duringthe meeting, Khanna told MLA about importance of nutritious diet for theplayers to improve their game so there is immediate need of a sport canteen forthe players so that they can get healthy and nutrient rich food easilyfollowing which Beri approved Rs 5 lakh.
Hesaid that with sports canteen, 500 players practicing at stadium would begreatly benefitted.
Hesaid that with this canteen, the players would be able to get meal for threetimes in a day (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner).
Hestated that the players who usually come to participate in the tournamentshere, will be able to enjoy the food in this canteen as earlier they have to gooutside for food.
MLAalso patted the back of interim committee of District Badminton Association.
Khannaalso said that interim committee has taken several measures for upgradation ofthe stadium and brought new facility of five new synthetic courts, gyms, yogaand aerobic centre and opened academy of Olympian Deepankar Bhattacharya.
Itis pertinent to mention here that for stadium, MP Naresh Gujral and SpeakerRana KP Singh has provided a grant of Rs 15 lakh and Rs 5 lakh respectively.
