In India, one suicide is reported every four minutes. In the year 2019, about 1.39 lakh persons committed suicide. People between the ages of 14 and 30 made up 41% of the total. The young generation is somewhat less than half of the country's total population.Domestic conflicts, love affairs, exam failures, and marriage-related issues are among the leading causes of suicide among these young people. Smriti Irani, the Minister for Women and Child Development, announced this in the Lok Sabha on July 30.
After this, due to disputes in marriage, failure in exam and unemployment- maximum number of people have committed suicide.
Domestic disagreements are also the leading cause of suicide among young people (18 to 30 years old), with illness coming in second. As a result of these issues, youths are more likely to commit suicide. Following this, the majority of young people commit suicide as a result of love affairs. In 2019, 16,280 teenagers committed suicide as a result of domestic violence, 5,786 as a result of sickness, and 4,786 as a result of marriage related problems. That is, more than half of the total youth committed suicide due to these three reasons.
The second most common reason for suicide is illness. Every year for the past three years, over 6500 people have committed suicide as a result of illnesses. The majority of these individuals committed suicide as a result of mental illness or insanity. Cancer, AIDS, and paralysis are among the other diseases due to which youth commit suicide.
Women who are socially regarded as more emotional are emotionally stronger than men. More males than women have committed suicide after the death of their loved ones.
