Pakistan team lost to Zimbabwe by one run in the Super 12 match at the T20 World Cup in Perth on Thursday. This defeat gave Pakistan a major setback in the battle for the semifinals.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Zimbabwe scored 130 runs for 8 in 20 overs. In reply, Pakistan's team could score only 129 runs for 8 wickets. With this defeat, Pakistan is almost out of the semi-final race.

But still, there is hope for the Pakistan team to compete in the semi-final. There are two conditions- one is if the South African team loses in both of its upcoming matches with India and Pakistan and secondly, Pakistan has to win all three matches left in the qualifying stage.

This is the only way by which Pakistan can still compete in the semi-finals. Pakistan is at the bottom of the points table with zero points as Pakistan is unable to win even a single match in the Super12. With today's win, Zimbabwe moves up to the third spot on the Group 2 points table.

In today's match, Both Pakistan's openers Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan were not able to perform well. Against Zimbabwe, only 14 runs came off 16 balls from Rizwan's bat. Pakistan captain Babar Azam returned to the pavilion after scoring 4 runs in 9 balls.

After this slowly the whole Pakistan team went back to the pavilion. Regarding the record, both teams competed against one another in a total of 18 T20 matches. Pakistan won in 16. Zimbabwe has been able to win only 2 matches. In 2021, Zimbabwe defeated Pakistan for the first time at home by a score of 19 runs. Now Zimbabwe got its second win in this match.
