Thinner Kim Jong Un steals spotlight at North Korea parade, here’s why world is interested

This time, massive weapons were not displayed in North Korea’s parade but still, the event was in news, the reason behind such attention was North Korean Leader Kim Jong Un’s new look.

Drastic weight loss is always a topic to talk about, either people would ask about the secret behind the loss or will compliment you. But if you are a leader of a nation then it would definitely spark controversy. In a recent military parade in North Korea, more than military dogs and workers in orange hazmat, the international spotlight fell on North Korea's Kim Jong-Un, who looked much thinner and more energetic than ever before. 

Kim appeared at the parade when the clock struck midnight, he was dressed in a cream coloured suit with a white shiny tie. He was seen in a hairstyle similar to his grandfather. 

Kim didn't speak at the parade but he waived, smiled and gave a thumbs-up as thousands of goose-stepping paramilitary and public security forces marched for more than an hour through Pyongyang’s Kim II Sung Square, named after his grandfather and founder of the nation, late Kim II Sung.

Kim happily waved and kissed the children who gave him flowers before going to observe the parade from a balcony.  

Kim’s weight loss was first noticed in June when he made a public appearance in weeks to convene a ruling party meeting. At that time North Korean watchers said that Kim has lost around 10-12 kilograms. 

Kim Jong Un’s new look has left netizens talking. Many are appreciating the transformation.

Health observers have been watching 37-year-old Kim's health closely because frequent drinker and smoker, Kim has a family history of heart disease. Both his father and grandfather, who ruled North Korea before him, died of heart issues.
