The India Meteorological Department (IMD) of Chandigarh unit on Friday evening issued a fresh thunderstorm prediction in Punjab for the upcoming days. IMD Chandigarh has been predicting and warning of thunderstorms in Punjab for the past few days. However, most often the predictions have not come true. Still, just like IMD had predicted, Jalandhar and many other districts witnessed a strong thunderstorm last Saturday. The thunderstorm was so strong that multiple deaths were reported in many districts of Punjab, including Jalandhar. Punjab Thunderstorm Prediction
IMD has predicted that multiple districts of Punjab will witness thunderstorms for at least 4 days, including on the Weekend, i.e., Saturday and Sunday. Below is a list of the districts that are expected to witness thunderstorms-
- May 31, 2025- Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, and Mohali.
- June 1, 2025- Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, Mohali, and Fatehgarh Sahib
- June 2, 2025- Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, and Mohali
- June 3, 2025- Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar, Mohali, Fatehgarh Sahib, and Patiala
