Tokyo Olympics Day 7: Boxer Satish in quarters, Atanu enters pre-quarters, Sindhu storms into last eight

On Thursday, the 7th day of the Olympics 2020, India has started the day with the victory of India over Argentina with 3-1 in Men’s Hockey.

On July 29, India had a good start at Tokyo Olympics 2020. To date, India has only one silver medal, bagged by Mirabai Channu and today’s performances have definitely raised the hopes of Indians.

Tokyo Olympics 2020: Results

  • Boxer Satish Kumar enters the quarterfinals. 
  • India beats Argentina 3-1 in Men’s hockey and has booked a seat in quarterfinal berth.
  •  PV Sindhu beats Mia Dlichfeldt 2-0 and enters quarterfinals.
  • Archer Atanu Das enters pre-quarterfinals in the Men’s Individual event.
  • Indian Rowers Arjun Jat and Arvind Singh finish fifth.

Boxing: 


Satish Kumar bagged a win over Ricardo Brown of Jamaica in Men’s Super Heavy Category with a 4-1. Satish has now sailed into the quarterfinals. Now, on Sunday he would face Bakhodir Jalolov of Uzbekistan. 

Today’s upcoming match for India: Mary Kom would fight against Ingrit Valencia from Colombia at 3:36 pm IST.

Hockey: 


The men’s hockey team has registered one more win in Tokyo Olympics 2020. During the second game, team India was badly defeated by Australia but never lose hope! Team India made a comeback and won today’s win against defending champions Argentina 3-1, followed by its victory against Spain.

Badminton: 


PV Sindhu enters the quarterfinals! PV Sindhu beat Mia Dilchfeldt 2-0. Sindhu maintained the lead till last and defeated Mia in a 41 minutes match. Now, on Friday Sindhu will play the game against Akane Yamaguchi of Japan at noon IST.

Archery: 


Atanu Das made it to the third round after beating two-time Olympics champion Oh Jin Hyek of South Korea. Atanu made a strong comeback after failing behind and registered a 6-5 win. Now, Das would face Takaharu Furukawa from Japan on Saturday.
