Sha'Carri Richardson, 21, was a girl, a favourite for Olympic gold in the women's 100 metres, despite the fact that it had been 25 years since anyone in a US vest had won the event. With her bright orange hair, she was the epitome of the American dream, leaping to the finish line at the US Olympic Trials last month and leaving the competition in the dust as she recorded 10.86 seconds to qualify. Her PB of 10.72 makes her sixth fastest woman of all time.

Now Sha’Carri Richardson suspended for Marijuana use. Richardson's one-month suspension for a positive cannabis test brought the dream to an untimely end. It's a major setback for sports fans who will miss out on seeing the sprinter they adored — not just for her incredible speed, but also for her "fast and furious" style.
