Trading halted at NSE due to technical glitch – positions are open
The largest turnover exchange in India, the National StockExchange (NSE) has been down from about last two hours.
The trading in Futures and Options Market was halted at 11:40am and the cash market at 11:43 am.
Further, some time back the exchange cancelled all openorders, but investors and traders beware that all open positions are open.
All brokers are helpless in the face of such an outage atthe exchange.
This is so because the brokers also ultimately route theorders to the exchange only.
One of the most popular brokers Zerodha informed its usersand the public that, “There is an issue with live ticks for NSE indices (Nifty50, Nifty Bank and others) across brokers. We are in touch with NSE to havethis fixed.”
NSE informed public via Twitter that their telecom serviceproviders are having issues and thus NSE’s trading cannot run.
The NSE continued its explanation, “We are working onrestoring the systems as soon as possible. In view of the above, all thesegments have been closed at 11:40 and will be restored as soon as the issue isresolved.”
