
The government of India has offered an extended window for the citizens of the country to update their Aadhaar for free. According to the latest update by the Unique Identification Authority of India, which is abbreviated as UIDAI, has announced that the people of India can update their Aadhaar for another year.
Notably, the new date for the updation has been extended till June 14, 2026 - which means till the deadline, people can go for updation without any additional charges. However, following the above-mentioned date, the individual has to pay an extra amount for the process of updation.
It is worth mentioning that earlier, the last date was June 14, 2025.
This update was shared by the UIDAI through X, which was formerly known as Twitter, on Saturday. The post read, “#UIDAI extends free online document upload facility till 14th June 2026; to benefit millions of Aadhaar Number Holders. This free service is available only on the #myAadhaar portal. UIDAI has been encouraging people to keep documents updated in their #Aadhaar.”
