The Urapar Agriculture Cooperative Society, Nawanshahr, organised the meeting of its general body under the chairmanship of Sukhwinder Singh Dhawa Banwait, president of the Society. The shareholders and farmers attended the meeting. Narwinder Singh, Secretary, presented the annual progress report of the Cooperative Secretary. Sukhwinder Singh Dhawa, president, distributed cheques of the dividend to the farmers.
While addressing the meeting, he said that the Cooperative Society had earned profit amounting to Rs.21491144 during the past three years. Besides distributing dividend among the shareholders, the Society also utilised Rs.25 lakh as building fund, Rs. 6 lakh as Welfare Fund, Rs.24000 as Education Fund. A sum of Rs.14.64 lakh had been transferred into the bank accounts of farmers.
The office bearers of the Society and prominent personalities were also present on the occasion.
