In a massive development in the world of professional wrestling, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) founding member and wrestler Vince McMahon on Friday announced his retirement. Vince McMahon retirement came at a time when he was under the scanner of an investigation over an alleged misconduct investigation and has been accused of using the company's $3 million for a settlement with a former woman employee to hide his sexual relationship with her.

Vince McMahon on Friday took to his Twitter handle and stated that being a 77-year-old it is now time for him to retire from the WWE. Furthermore, he expressed his gratitude to the WWE Universe. "At 77, time for me to retire. Thank you, WWE Universe. Then. Now. Forever. Together. #WWE #thankful (SIC)," wrote Vince McMahon. 


It is pertinent to mention here that Vince McMahon had to step down as CEO and Chairman of the WWE Council. after an investigation against him was ordered over his secret sexual relationship scandal. Following Vince's resignation, his daughter and wrestler Stephanie McMahon took charge as interim WWE CEO.

A few months back, Vince McMahon was charged with an alleged $3 million settlement with a former employee. Along with Vince, this reportedly includes one of his former employees. Reportedly, in the year 2019, WWE hired a female employee. Vince McMahon allegedly had an affair with this employee. 

When this employee left WWE, Vince McMahon and the former employee had a deal of $ 3 million (about Rs 23 crore). It is being said that Vince gave this amount from the company's fund. After the matter came to light, WWE immediately started action on this matter. The WWE Board started an investigation taking this matter seriously. After this Vince voluntarily stepped down from all his posts in the WWE.
