Ganguly said “Leave it to BCCI”

Sunil Gavaskar believes BCCI president Sourav Ganguly is the ideal person to clarify Virat Kohli's claim that the Indian board did not urge him to reconsider his decision to step down as T20I captain. Ganguly, on the other hand, remained silent. Later in the day, he informed TV reporters, "No statement, no press conference." "We'll take care of it. Leave it to BCCI.".

Ganguly stated the BCCI had requested him to reconsider his decision days after Kohli stood down as captain. During his press conference on Wednesday, prior of the team's departure for South Africa, Kohli contradicted Ganguly's claim.

What's happened so far?

Rohit Sharma has been named the captain of the ODI and T20 squads by the BCCI's Senior Selection Committee. Virat did not want to lose his ODI captaincy. To this, Ganguly said that the board had advised him in September that if he leaves the T20 captaincy, keeping him in ODIs would be tough. That is why he is still the T20 captain.

According to Ganguly, Virat refused to do so, leaving the BCCI with no choice but to take over Virat's ODI leadership. WHITE BALL cricket, according to Ganguly, cannot have two captains.
