India is all set to take on England in the four-match test series starting from Friday. India who defeated mighty Australia in Australia is high at confidence as the team defeated them without its front-line players.  Kohli on Thursday interacted with media in the pre-match press conference and narrated how he was in the hospital while Sundar and Shardul were batting. 

Talking to the media Virat said, "Was actually watching Washington Sundar and Shardul Thakur's partnership at Brisbane on my phone just before the doctor called me in." ashington Sundar and Shardul Thakur had put on a 7th wicket partnership worth 123 off 217 balls to lay down the foundation of India's historic win at the Gabba.

On being asked about him becoming a father, Kohli said, "Becoming a father has been the greatest moment of my life. I can't compare it to a series win. But the connection to the team doesn't go away even if I'm not there. We are invariably connected and I was watching all the action."

"Our team's identity is one we have created over the years - we always want to win and draw is last resort. We have persisted with this will to win match by match, series by series. When we saw the results, we realized this is how we want to play," added Kohli. 

Earlier Kohli also revealed that the ongoing farmer's issue was also discussed in the team meeting.
