In the last decade, Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni have been the two pillars of Indian cricket. The former Indian captain's friendship with the current captain is well-known, and supporters anxiously await such occasions, especially after Dhoni's retirement from international cricket in August.

Last night, all Indian cricket fans were treated to another enthralling day as Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) took on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in match 35 of the IPL 2021. MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli appeared to have had a lengthy conversation before of the Southern Durban Test as the toss was delayed due to a passing sandstorm in Sharjah.

In the opening match of the IPL 2021 UAE Leg at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Chennai Super Kings won the toss and chose to bat first. RCB, their southern opponents, got off to a flying start in the first innings, with Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli smashing half-centuries to put together a century opening partnership. The RCB innings, on the other hand, was derailed once their wickets fell, as they were restricted to 156/6 in their 20 overs.

CSK rose to the top of the IPL 2021 points table after cruised to the target with 6 wickets and 11 balls to spare in the chase. Following the match, another heartwarming moment emerged between MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli as the latter walked up behind MS Dhoni and hugged him from behind as they were waiting for the post-match presentation.


MS Dhoni, the former Indian captain, has been named the Men in Blue's mentor ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup in 2021. Notably, as the captain of Team India, Dhoni has a long history of winning numerous ICC trophies, since he is the only captain in international cricket to have won all three ICC trophies: the ICC T20 World Cup, ICC ODI World Cup, and ICC Champions Trophy.


The Dhoni-Kohli connection might once again be successful for the Indian National Cricket Team as they try to win their first ICC title in seven years. India's squad T20 World Cup team has already been named, and Virat Kohli has stated that he will step down as  T20 captain after the IPL tournament.
