Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has onceagain become active in politics amid the Punjab Congress tussle. Thecricketer-turned-politician Navjot Sidhu is at loggerheads with Punjab ChiefMinister Capt Amarinder Singh over the state-related issues or unfulfilledpromises ahead of state Assembly Elections 2022.

Although, the Congress High Command has constituted athree-member panel to resolve the longstanding feud in the state unit, no reconciliationpoint has been reached despite holding several meetings with the party leaders.

In order to reach a breakthrough, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra hasshown her involvement in the matter and on June 30 she held more than 6meetings.

The first meeting reportedly was held between Priyankaand Sidhu which lasted for more than 3 hours in which various Punjab Congress issueswere discussed in it to end resolve the infighting.

A few hours later, Priyanka visited her brother RahulGandhi’s residence to deliberate on the state unit’s position.

It may be noted here that Sidhu, who has the back of Gandhibrother-sister, has also met Rahul at his residence today in New Delhi. In the meeting, Sidhu has most likely pressed for his demands ahead of the state AssemblyElections 2022 and has aired a long list of grievances against Capt AmarinderSingh.

Although, the High Command has announced that the upcomingelections in the state will be contested under the leadership of CaptAmarinder, Sidhu remains disgruntled.

To pacify the infighting, Priyanka held two rounds of discussionwith Sidhu-one before and the other after meeting Rahul Gandhi.

In order to induct him back to the party at an elitedesignation, Priyanka after meeting Sidhu went to 10 Janpath for a meet withCongress chief Sonia Gandhi. From here, she again went to Rahul Gandhi and forthe final round, they both visited Sonia Gandhi together.

These frequent meetings have however stirred speculationsthat a decision in Punjab Congress tussle can be declared anytime soon.

Notably, two years ago, Priyanka had managed to bringpeace during a similar revolt camp in Rajasthan, when Sachin Pilot voiced outagainst his leader, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.
