Australia tour of India 2023 is turning out to be a nightmare for the visitors, as the former number 1 test bowler Pat Cummins has been ruled out of the upcoming 3rd Test against India. Pat Cummins flew to Australia citing personal reasons, however, Cricket Australia had assured the team that he will be back to lead the team against India in the third test. At first, cricketing fans around the world were curious to know what actually happened to Pat Cummins? Now, Australian skipper Pat Cummins has finally broken his silence over his decision to return to his country. Fox quoted the Australian captain who stated that his mother is ill and therefore he cannot go to India to play the third Test.

“I have decided against returning to India at this time as my mother is ill and palliative care,” Cummins said in a statement adding, "I feel I am best being here with my family...I appreciate the overwhelming support I have received from Cricket Australia and my teammates. Thanks for your understanding."

Palliative care is an approach that improves the quality of life of patients (adults and children) and their families who are facing problems associated with life-threatening illness.
