After Juan Vicente Perez Mora's death,  Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro issued a statement in which he reportedly said, "Juan Vicente Perez Mora has transcended into eternity at 114 years old. From the town of El Cobre he gave Venezuela the Guinness Record for being the oldest man in the world. I send my hug and condolences to his family and to all the people of El Cobre, Tachira state. May God receive him in his holy glory!"

For the unversed, Tio Juan was a farmer by profession. He was crowned the oldest man alive in May 2022 when the Guinness Book of Records recognised his long-standing triumphs. Notably, Juan Vicente Perez Mora left behind his huge family. He had 11 kids, 41 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

It is worth mentioning that in 2022, another oldest man Saturnino de la Fuente, a Spaniard died at the age of 112 years and 341 days. He passed away at his home in León, a city in northwest Spain. His name is recorded in the Guinness Book of World Records. He was born in Ponte Castro, Leon, on February 11, 1909.
