Slated to be released in theaters on January 23, 2026; Border 2 is arguably the most-awaited movie of the month. Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 is the sequel of cult-classic movie Border that was released in 1997.

1997-film Border was inspired by the true story of battle of Longewala in which 120 Indian soldiers defend their post all night from Pakistani intrusion until they receive assistance from the Indian Air Force the next morning. Going by the trailer, Border 2 is inspired by the true story of 1971 India-Pakistan war.

The war-drama is a multi star cast movie that features Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Sonam Bajwa, Paramvir Singh Cheema, etc.

Border 2 Jalandhar Connection

The special Jalandhar-connection that Border 2 has is the presence of actor Paramvir Singh Cheema. Paramvir Singh Cheema hails from Jalandhar, Punjab. In Border 2, Paramvir Singh Cheema plays the character of Subedar Nishaan Singh.

For the unversed, Paramvir Singh Cheema has delivered a critically acclaimed web-series Black Warrant. In Black Warrant, Paramvir Singh Cheema played the character of a Sardar ji.

During those days, Paramvir Singh Cheema in an interview had said, "My roots are in Punjab, Jalandhar. My father is a farmer and a lawyer, and my grandfather was an eye specialist. Nobody in my family is into acting. I am the only one who chose to go in this direction in 2015."

According to reports, Paramvir Singh Cheema is an alumni of Innocent Hearts School Jalandhar of 2011-12 batch. He has also participated in Mr. Punjab 2015.

Paramvir Singh Cheema has delivered powerful performance in multiple web series like Tabbar (2021), Chamak (2023), Sapne VS Everyone, and Black Warrant. Recently, Cheema was also seen in the movie Tere Ishq Mein that also featured Kriti Sanon and Dhanush.

Paramvir Singh Cheema took to his Instagram handle and wrote-

"Subedar Nishaan Singh

Being a part of such an iconic film means so much to me. Never thought my journey would take me to the sets of Border, Singing iconic line ‘Sandese Aate hai’ , performing with Sunny Deol and such great actors.

When i told my father that i got shortlisted for Border 2 he said ‘ Eh Taan Krni He Hai’. He was so happy my whole family and friends were so happy. This is for my friends and Family.

Thankyou @anurag_singh_films for having faith in me. It was a pleasure to work under your direction sir. Working with you was so easy as an Actor.
