With the release of 'Ghar Kab Aaogey' song, fans in India are now braced up to witness arguably India's biggest war-drama Border 2. Set to be released in theaters on January 23, 2026, Border 2 features a multi star cast like Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Sonam Bajwa, etc.
Border 2 is the sequel of cult-classic movie Border that was released in 1997. Border was based on the true story of battle of Longewala in which 120 Indian soldiers defend their post all night from Pakistani intrusion until they receive assistance from the Indian Air Force the next morning.
Border 2 is also said to be based on true events of 1971 India-Pakistan war. Now, the question arises what are Border 2 Shooting Locations?
Sunny Deol starrer movie Border 2 has been shot in multiple states of India like Jhansi (MP), NDA Pune, and in Punjab.
Border 2 has been shot in Amritsar, Punjab. Since Border 2 is a multi-starrer movie, the actors have shot their scene in Amritsar.
For example, Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan has shared a series of photos from a village in Punjab from his shooting days. Sharing a post, Varun Dhawan wrote, "पंजाब दे खेत (farms of Punjab) Best morning hogi".
In another post he wrote, "ਪੰਜਾਬ पंजाब Punjab (Punjab Punjab)"
Notably, True Scoop tried to dig deep on Border 2 Shooting Locations in Punjab and hence reverse searched an image that was shared by Varun Dhawan in his post. We got one hit based on the image shared by Varun Dhawan.
Google Lens suggest that the photo is from Gurudwara Pipli Sahib in Amritsar. The picture taken by Varun Dhawan is from afar. Hence, it is confirmed that Border 2 has been shot in Amritsar.
Furthermore, Varun Dhawan had shared a video after Border 2's shooting in Amritsar was wrapped. In the video, Diljit was seen offering laddus to the crew after the wrap up.
Sharing a video, Varun Dhawan wrote, "Diljit paaji ka shoot khatam hua, ladoo vi batt gaye… dosti da taste hi kuch aur hunda hai! Thank u paaji will miss u and the team. Border2"
Commenting on his post, Diljit wrote, "haji Baut Baut Pyar.. Pata Hee Ni Chala Kab Shoot Khatam Ho Gaya.. Bhaji DARBAR SAHIB Matha Tek Ke… Fer Arshi De Chole Kulche.. Te Gyani Ji Di Chaa Kachori Zarur Try Kareo.. (So much love, so much affection… didn’t even realise when the shoot got over.. After that, bowed my head at Sri Darbar Sahib ..Then enjoyed Arshi’s chole kulche, and you must definitely try Gyani Ji’s tea and kachori.)
Ahan Shetty, Suniel Shetty's son is also playing a major role in the movie. Ahan has too shared his pictures from his shooting days in Punjab.
On Instagram, Ahan shared a series of picture in which he was seen in a village of Punjab.
