E-Bus Specifications & Route Plans

True Scoop earlier published a report in July 2025. Prabhnoor Singh, Consultant PM e-bus Sewa Scheme, had informed that Jalandhar submitted a proposal for 97 AC e-buses, but the actual number may exceed 100 due to the Centre's provision of 10–15% additional units. These buses will be categorized as:

  • 42 buses – 7-meter category (for short routes like Maqsudan, Tanda Chowk, Devi Talab Mandir)

  • 39 buses – 9-meter category (for both short and mid-length routes)

  • 16 buses – 12-meter category (for longer routes like Jalandhar to Kartarpur, Lambra, AGI Infra, Jandu Singha)

Jalandhar is the only city in Punjab to have opted for 7-meter e-buses, which are compact and suitable for narrower roads and shorter routes. These are currently under production.
