

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) sarpanch of Thathian Mahantan, Harbrinder Singh has been shot dead by unknown assailants on Tuesday during a wedding ceremony that was being held in the Tarn Taran district.
As per the preliminary reports it has been established that the Sarpanch was sitting with some close friends at a private marriage palace after arriving for a wedding ceremony when two to three armed assailants barged in. The men opened indiscriminate fire on the sarpanch, killing him on the spot.
The deceased sarpanch’s cousin, Germanjeet Singh, was also wounded by a bullet during the shooting and has been admitted to local hospital for treatment. According to the reports, he is said to be in critical condition as of now.
The authorizes were informed about the incident and a team of senior police officials along with others rushed to the crime scene. A manhunt has been started to find and apprehend the accused, and the area has been roped off. As part of the investigation, forensic teams are investigating the scene and scanning CCTV footage from surrounding areas. Investigations are ongoing, according to police officials, and more information about the attack's motivation has not yet been determined.
