Police gun down gangster linked to AAP Sarpanch murder in Tarn Taran encounter

As per reports, one bullet struck a member of the police team involved in the operation, fortunately, his bullet proof vest saved his life.

An encounter took place between police and gangsters in Tarn Taran, it is being reported that one of the gangsters was killed during this exchange of fire. Talking about the case, DIG Snehdeep Sharma says that a team from the Tarn Taran CIA and AGTF were conducting the operation. Based off the intelligence input, they had pursued a motorcycle. When the authorities tried to apprehend the rider, he abandoned the bike and opened fire on the police. The police retaliated with a gunfight.

On the other hand, the gangster was also hit by a bullet during the exchange of fire and was taken to the hospital for treatment, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The deceased has been identified as Harnoor, a resident of Kathu Nangal. It is being reported that he was a close associate of Prabh Dasuwal and Afridi. He used to do fieldwork for the two. A pistol has also been recovered from his possession. Allegedly, he was also involved in the planning among the shooters who murdered AAP Sarpanch Jarmal Singh in Amritsar and had his hand in the module busted in connection with the case of lock President Harman Sekhon.

The reports indicate that had conducted recce of the Sarpanch earlier. The case is currently under investigation. Amritsar police is working on to identify his role in the murder case.
