

In a major breakthrough for Jalandhar Police, youth 'Kaalu' who was accused of stabbing Sheetal Angural's nephew to death was arrested on Saturday. On Friday night, former Jalandhar West MLA & BJP leader Sheetal Angural's nephew Vikas was stabbed to death after an altercation with Kaalu and two other accused. The incident took place in Shivaji Nagar of Basti Danishmandan area.
ADCP-2 Paramjit Singh said that Ravi Kumar alias Kaalu, son of Roop Lal, resident of Dhariwal Kadian, Police Station Lambra, Jalandhar (Rural) has been arrested. An FIR was filed at Police Station Division No. 5 under Sections 103(1), 351(3) and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The search for the other accused is ongoing. Further investigation in the case is underway.
Sheetal Angural alleged that that his nephew was killed by Kaalu who was 'overdosed' at that time. Kaalu and two others who were with him were intoxicated as well. The BJP leader also revealed that his nephew was screaming for help but no-one came to rescue him.
Angural said, "A boy named Kalu went to a rally with a few others. The rally concluded around 5:30 to 6:30 pm. After that, he drank alcohol with his associates, overdosed on drugs, lost control and they went on to murder Vikas."
Angural further alleged that Kalu had earlier also attacked the police in Basti Bawa Khel. The BJP leader said that he has given the police a free hand so that he can know what the motive behind his nephew's murder.
"He was screaming for help, shouting ‘save me, save me’, but no one came to his rescue," said Sheetal Angural.
