

In a shocking development, former Jalandhar West MLA and BJP leader Sheetal Angural's nephew was stabbed to death on late Friday night. Sheetal Angural's nephew named Vikas was said to be 16-17-years-old. Initial reports suggest that Vikas was stabbed three times in the chest when a fight broke out after an argument on the road. The incident reportedly took place in Shivaji Nagar of Basti Danishmandan area.
After being stabbed, Vikas reportedly ran to a nearby lane and asked a woman for water. However, when the woman came with water, Vikas had collapsed on the street.
He was then immediately rushed to a private hospital near Kapurthala Chowk where he was declared dead around 11:30 pm.
Sheetal Angural also reached hospital also he received information about his nephew being hospitalised. The BJP leader reportedly received a phone call at around 10 pm informing him that his nephew had been attacked.
Police from Police Station No. 5 have started an investigation. Officials said the exact motive behind the murder is not yet clear.
However, Sheetal Angural has alleged that the murder was carried out by drug addicts. He further claimed that the main accused, identified as Kalu, is allegedly involved in drug trafficking and has previously attacked police personnel. He also stated that three people were involved in the attack, though the identities of the other two are yet to be established.
