To restore Punjab back on track, the Aam Aadmi Party’s Mann Government has launched a major campaign. While floodwaters have receded from several areas, villages are still covered with silt, filth, and debris. To normalize life and prevent diseases, the government has prepared a comprehensive plan ranging from cleanliness to healthcare and farmer support.

The Mann Government announced that a massive cleanliness drive will be carried out in over 2,300 villages and wards. Teams of JCBs, tractor-trolleys, and laborers are being sent to each village. These teams will remove debris and silt, dispose of dead animals, and then conduct fogging to prevent disease outbreaks.

A fund of ₹100 crore has been allocated for this work. Each village has been given ₹1 lakh immediately, with additional funds to be provided if required.

The government’s target is to remove debris from villages by 24 September, complete the repair of public spaces by 15 October, and clean ponds by 22 October.

Healthcare services are also being given priority. Medical camps will be set up in all 2,303 flood-affected villages. In the 596 villages that already have Aam Aadmi Clinics, camps will be held there. In the remaining 1,707 villages, camps will be organized in schools, dharamshalas, anganwadis, or panchayat buildings.

Each camp will have doctors, medical staff, and medicines available. In addition, 550 ambulances are being deployed to ensure people get immediate treatment.

The government has also taken charge of saving livestock. Reports suggest nearly 2.5 lakh animals across 713 villages have been affected. Veterinary doctor teams have already reached the villages.

Rotten fodder is being removed, potassium permanganate is being distributed to farmers, and vaccination of all affected animals will be completed by 30 September.

The biggest concern for farmers is selling their crops. To address this, the Mann Government has decided to begin procurement earlier than usual. Procurement in mandis will start from 16 September.

In mandis damaged by floods, rapid cleaning and repair work is being carried out so that by 19 September, all mandis will be ready to purchase farmers’ crops.

The Mann Government says this is not just about relief, but a commitment to rebuild Punjab. The government has also appealed to NGOs, youth clubs, and social organizations to join hands in this mission. Punjab has always fought every crisis together, and no matter how big this crisis is, when the government stands with its people—every Punjabi proudly says: “This Mann Government stands with us.”
