

In a major development Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Jagjit Singh Jeeta has been arrested by police in connection with an alleged prostitution racket being run from a hotel in Moga and according to information shared by Baltej Pannu a police raid was conducted at a hotel linked to Jagjit Singh Jeeta and during the raid several girls were rescued including a minor raising serious concerns about the nature of the activities.
As per the FIR a police team from Mehna police station was on routine patrolling when they received a tip-off at Bughipura Chowk and the informer told the police that illegal prostitution activities were being carried out at Hotel Devil Zone located near Medicity Hospital following which the police officials reached the hotel and carried out a raid.
The hotel was allegedly being operated by Lakhwinder Singh.
Jagjit Singh Jeeta and Balbir Singh are listed as co-owners.
The accused were allegedly bringing women & minor girls from other districts.
These women and girls were reportedly supplied to customers in exchange for money.
A case has been registered against the accused under multiple serious laws, including: Sections 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956, Sections 16 and 17 of the POCSO Act (related to minors) & Section 143 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Police have described the information received as “reliable” and have begun further investigation into the matter.
A photograph of Jeeta from the party’s ‘Punjab Bachao’ rally in Moga has also surfaced on social media drawing attention to his political links and Baltej Pannu stated that the involvement of a political leader in such a serious case is “deeply concerning” and also claimed that in previous sex-related scandals in Moga names of some senior Akali Dal leaders had surfaced.
