Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Friday said that the Bharatiya Janata Party has no base in Punjab, as he addressed the media in the backdrop of recent political developments involving leaders exiting the Aam Aadmi Party.

During his press conference, Mann stated that the BJP leadership is aware of AAP’s strong presence in the state. Referring to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, he said that the central leadership understands the political ground reality in Punjab.

The Chief Minister also commented on Ravneet Singh Bittu, saying that if the BJP realizes that Bittu does not hold a strong position in Punjab, he too could be removed by the party. He further pointed out that Bittu had earlier been critical of Raghav Chadha, and questioned how such leaders would align politically going forward.

Mann also alleged that the BJP does not function as a democratic party and criticized its actions in elections in other states, including West Bengal. He said such practices are not appropriate in a democratic setup.

Reiterating his stance, the Chief Minister said that the people of Punjab will continue to support AAP. His remarks come at a time when the state’s political landscape is witnessing significant developments following announcements by some leaders regarding their exit from the party and possible realignment.
