Sri Harmandir Sahib famously known as Golden Temple has received bomb threat emails back to back for three days. While the security agencies have been investigating the case, the sender is yet to be caught
In the meanwhile, bomb threat email to Golden Temple has come to the fore.
As per the information received, the latest email was sent to SGPC and its President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami. It references an alleged nexus between Khalistani elements and Tamil Nadu minister.
The email, titled “Khalistan-Udhayanidhi Nexus”, was sent at 3:37 AM on July 15 and even cites two previous emails—allegedly from a fake ID created under the name of former Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan.
It mentions the presence of four RDX-based IEDs, still undetected by bomb disposal squads, which could detonate accidentally due to overheating or oxidation. The sender says authorities to re-scan the Golden Temple premises using X-ray equipment, especially the underground pipes.

Amritsar MP Gurjeet Singh Aujla has written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, raising alarm over the continued threats to the Golden Temple. Calling it a matter of national security, Aujla pointed out that this is the fifth confirmed threat to the revered Sikh shrine.
He urged the Centre to take urgent and permanent measures to secure the site, recommending:
High-tech surveillance systems
A permanent security coordination centre
Quick investigation and arrest mechanisms
Declaring the site as a “Nationally Protected Religious Site”
Deployment of Quick Reaction Teams and Bomb Disposal Squads
He also highlighted Amritsar’s sensitive nature due to its proximity to the international border, international airport, and the presence of foreign devotees.
