Multiple schools of Patiala on Tuesday received bomb threat email. As a result, school administration informed the police quickly and anti-sabotage teams were dispatched to schools. Patiala SSP Varun Sharma himself reached the spot.

The sender in the email has threatened to blow up schools between 1 pm in the afternoon till 9 pm in the night. Furthermore, death threats have also been issued to CM Bhagwant Mann and Arvind Kejriwal. The sender also wrote about separating Punjab from India.

As per sources, multiple schools have received the threatening email including Ryan International School of Patiala.

On being asked about this, Special DGP (Law & Order) Arpit Shukla informed True Scoop that the senders are using VPN to send such threat mails to schools. A case has been filed in this matter. Initial investigation suggest that these threats are not linked to terror outfits but of some 'anti-social' elements. Punjab Police are taking the help of Cyber Cell and Central Agencies to trace the sender.

Notably, it is the third time in past few days that schools of Punjab have received such threatening email.

For the unversed, on December 15, 11 schools of Jalandhar received bomb threat email. The affected schools sent students back and the police sent anti-sabotage team. However, nothing suspicious was found.

Not only this, but multiple private schools in Amritsar also received bomb threat on December 12. It was also turned out to be a hoax.

On December 16, Amritsar Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar informed the media, "Investigation is still going on, soon results will come. We are in touch with central agencies. In earlier case, local children were found to be involved. It is a national level issue. Everyone is working very hard to crack this. But, the thing is information don't come quickly as email senders use VPN and Dark Net. We have also sent a request for information to Indian Cyber Portal part of Interpol."
