Car hits divider in dense fog on Bathinda Highway, five dead

A tragic road accident occurred on the Bathinda-Bikaner National Highway in Bathinda, Punjab. The reason of the accident is said to be dense fog that had blanketed the area. As per reports, five people have lost their lives in the accident. The collision occurred when a Gujarat-registered Toyota Fortuner collided with a divider.

The police team was immediately rushed to the spot for assistance, and rescue operation. Upon arriving at the scene, the police investigated the scene and collected the bodies, shifted them to the morgue of AIIMS Hospital in Bathinda. Among the deceased were four men and one woman. It is being reported that all the deceased were residents of Gujarat and among them was Amita Ban, who was serving as a constable in the Gujarat Police.

Allegedly, the Fortuner was travelling from Bathinda towards Dabwali. As per initial reports, the group had visited Shimla for a trip and were staying in Bathinda currently. They were travelling towards Dabwali when the accident occurred.
