In a major development, Jalandhar Municipal Corporation (MC) recently sealed a maternity and child care facility- Cloudnine Hospital in New Jawahar Nagar, Jalandhar. Jalandhar MC's action on Cloudnine Hospital comes after it received multiple complaints regarding parking.
An MTP (Municipal Town Planner) of Jalandhar Municipal Corporation confirmed this to True Scoop that after receiving multiple complaints the MC team verified it and then took action by sealing the building. Residents had complained about the lack of parking facilities in the hospital building.
"The hospital was sealed because they did not provide the parking facility that was showcased in the building plan that was passed by the authorities. We were receiving lots of complaints from colony residents," said the MTP.
As per reports, lack of parking facilities at the hospital could lead to serious traffic and parking problems in the area. Following the complaints, the Municipal Corporation Commissioner directed the Building Branch to take immediate action.
Although the building plan was approved as a hospital, the mandatory parking space shown on the ground floor was not found during inspection. Instead, construction work had been carried out in the designated parking area, which is a violation of building norms.
"The MC has taken its action, now if they want to submit a renewed or other proposal they can submit. The thing is they showcased in their map the space of parking facilities but it was not provided, hence the action was taken," added the MTP
