Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has embarked on an official visit to the Netherlands with a clear focus on attracting foreign investment and strengthening bilateral economic ties.
The visit is aimed at boosting cooperation in key sectors such as food processing, logistics, alloys and steels, pharmaceuticals, and information technology. The Chief Minister is expected to position Punjab as a preferred investment destination by highlighting its industrial potential, skilled workforce, and investor-friendly policies.
The Netherlands is among India’s largest foreign investors, and the visit seeks to further deepen this economic partnership. Several Dutch companies are already operating in Punjab, contributing to industrial growth and employment generation in the state.
A major milestone in Indo-Dutch collaboration was marked in October 2023, when CM Mann laid the foundation stone of a De Heus manufacturing unit at Vividha Industrial Park in Rajpura. The project reflects growing investor confidence and Punjab’s push towards industrial expansion.
In the agriculture sector, cooperation between Punjab and the Netherlands has also delivered results. The Indo-Dutch Centre of Excellence for potato cultivation has been functioning successfully, helping farmers adopt advanced techniques, improve yield, and enhance crop quality.
During his visit, CM Mann will hold a series of roadshows, one-on-one business meetings, and high-level interactions with leading global corporations and institutions. These engagements are aimed at showcasing Punjab’s investment opportunities and securing new partnerships that can accelerate the state’s economic growth.
The visit is being seen as a strategic effort to bring in global capital, technology, and expertise, while strengthening long-term economic relations between Punjab and the Netherlands.
