Amritsar Sarpanch murder case: CM Mann seeks report from DGP, orders swift action

Asserting to give justice the CM claims that those involved in the heinous crime would not be spared under any circumstances.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has taken cognizance of the recent case of AAP Sarpanch Jarmal Singh being shot dead in Amritsar. As per latest reports, the Chief Minister called upon the Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav and received an update on the matter. The CM has issued clear instructions to resolve the case swiftly. Asserting to give justice the CM claims that those involved in the heinous crime would not be spared under any circumstances.

AAP Sarpanch Jarmal Singh, of Valtoha village in Tarn Taran district was attacked while he went to attend a wedding ceremony. Initial reports indicate that two unknown assailants shot Jarmal Singh in the head while he was sitting in the wedding ceremony attending the festivities. Both the attackers managed to escape the crime scene after firing the bullets.

A post has also surfaced on social media claiming the responsibility of the same, naming Gangster Doni Ball along with Prabh Dasuwal, Afridi Tutt, Muhbat Randhawa, Amar Khabe and Pawan Shakeen. The post further claims that the sarpanch was responsible for demolition of the gangster’s house. He adds that the plan was executed by Ganga Thakpuria. The gangster claims to have attacked the sarpanch twice earlier too, where he escaped unharmed.
