In a major development, a local court on Tuesday ordered the police to file an FIR against 4 prominent doctors of Jalandhar and 1 Chartered Accountant (CA). The prominent doctors against whom the court has ordered to file an FIR are Dr. Rajesh Agarwal, Dr. Sanjay Mittal, Dr. Anwar Ibrahim, and Dr. Gupta. CA Sandeep Kumar Singh is also facing legal action in this.
All the prominent doctors are linked to Jalandhar's Sarvodya Hospital. They are accused of financial fraud and irregularities in partnership accounts. The complaint was filed by Dr. Pankaj Trivedi.
The court has directed the SHO (Station House Officer) of Navi Baradari, Jalandhar, to register a case against all these individuals under sections- 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 477.
Complainant Dr. Pankaj Trivedi's Advocate Maneet Malhotra confirmed this to True Scoop and informed that the case in simpler term is linked to financial fraud and misappropriation of funds.
Dr. Trivedi has alleged that he was a partner and head of neurosurgery at Sarvodya Hospital. He alleged that the hospital was financially weak and working in losses.
As per partnership rules, when the hospital was in loss, no partner was supposed to draw salary or remuneration.
Dr. Trivedi claims that when balance sheets for 2018–19 were prepared, original documents were signed by 9 partners, but later another forged balance sheet allegedly signed only by 3 partners was uploaded.
He alleges that figures were changed and salaries were shown as payable to some doctors despite the hospital being in losses.
He further claims two different UDIN numbers (unique numbers issued by ICAI for CA documents) were used and that fake financial documents running into crores were created, causing financial manipulation to benefit some partners.
Dr. Trivedi says he filed complaints with Navi Baradari Police Station and the Commissioner of Police in 2021 and 2022 but claims police took no action, which is why he approached the court.
