The Commissionerate Police Jalandhar has once again reaffirmed its commitment to curbing the menace of drug trafficking in the city. Under the leadership of Commissioner of Police, Smt. Dhanpreet Kaur, the Jalandhar Police has launched a comprehensive crackdown on drug peddlers and supplier. In the month of July, the Commissionerate Police arrested a total of 98 drug peddlers. Alongside enforcement actions, the police have also placed strong emphasis on rehabilitation and de-addiction measures.
* 92 individuals have been referred to de-addiction centers
* 90 individuals have been admitted to OOAT (Outpatient Opioid Assisted Treatment) centers
* 10 individuals have been sent to rehabilitation centers under Section 64A of the NDPS Act
Jalandhar Police has reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards drug-related offenses and remains dedicated to both enforcement and the rehabilitation of affected individuals.
