In a bizarre incident, a thief broke into an eatery named Tan Coffee in Jalandhar's Model Town area and stole cash from the counter. As per initial reports, incident took place around 8 am in the morning when Tan Coffee in Model Town, Jalandhar was closed.
The thief who had covered his face entered Tan Coffee from terrace and carried out the crime. It is reported that the thief has fled with Rs 40,000-Rs 45,000 cash. 'Tan Coffee Thief CCTV' footage has also been accessed by True Scoop.
In the CCTV, the thief can be seen entering Tan Coffee and breaking the cash counters to steal cash present there.
As per information received, the thief entered the premises around 8 am. After entering, the thief immediately began opening the counter drawers. He found nothing in the first drawer. Thereafter, he took out some files and diaries and placed them on the counter.
After some time, the thief found a cash box full of cash. He easily broke it and took out all the cash. He slowly stacked the currency notes on the counter.
The thief then brought a red cloth from the prayer area and put the stolen cash into it. He then emptied coins from the cash box into the cloth. He ties it into a bundle and kept it with him.
The CCTV further shows that after tying the bundle of money, he started searching for more cash. Thereafter, he tried to open the cash register attached to the online payment machine but failed. Hence, the thief searched for a sharp object to break open the cash register but found nothing.
As a result, he separated the computer from the cash register, but the wires didn’t detach. He then dragged the cash register away and broke the wires. He placed it near the kitchen inside the coffee shop and tried to open it with a spoon. When he couldn’t open it, he took it with him.
