During the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)’s massive state-level anti-drug rally in Moga today (Monday) the former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal took a stern stand against drugs and urged the people to go from village to village and spread the word that Akali Dal, BJP and Congress parties are responsible for the drug menace of Punjab today.

He highlights how for the first time ever, such a big action against drug traffickers has been taken in Punjab. He made an appeal to the public to not vote for these parties again.

Arvind Kejriwal’s key addresses at Moga anti-drug rally

Arvind Kejriwal highlighted various initiatives taken by the government’s to fight drugs:

  1. Public Initially Hesitant to Share Information: Kejriwal said that when the anti-drug campaign began, people were afraid to provide information about drug dealers. “The public was scared, but over the past year, police action against traffickers, bulldozer operations on their properties, and arrests of major offenders have restored public trust,” he stated.

  2. Formation of Village and Ward Committees: He highlighted that committees have been created in every ward and village, involving local residents to report drug-related activity. Committee members are using a mobile application to safely provide information about drug dealers.

  3. Youth Empowerment Through Sports: Kejriwal said the government is developing sports grounds in every village and providing sports equipment. Youth who overcome drug addiction will be engaged in sports activities and encouraged to participate positively.

  4. Employment Opportunities: He noted that the Mann government has provided over 60,000 government jobs and is committed to creating further employment opportunities for youth recovering from substance abuse.

  5. Public Awareness Against Past Governments: Kejriwal urged citizens to inform their communities about how previous governments, including the Akali Dal, BJP, and Congress, failed to curb drug abuse. He appealed to voters not to support these parties in future elections.
