Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav inaugurated a newly constructed range building of the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) at Police Lines, Jalandhar. Following which, the DGP held a press conference and addressed various issues concerning the state. During his address the DGP stated that police is actively working to apprehend gangsters who are maligning the peace and order of the state.
Talking about the recent killing if the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) sarpanch of Thathian Mahantan, Harbrinder Singh who was shot dead by unknown assailants on Tuesday during a wedding ceremony that was being held in the Tarn Taran district, the DGP says that gangsters based in abroad are colluding with youth and luring them with money to carry out such heinous crimes. He says that Red Corner and Blue Corner notices are being issued against these gagsters and they will be required to return to India and face the wrath of Indian judiciary.
Talking about the recent string of bomb threat emails being received in Punjab and Chandigarh the DGP says that currently India is in dispute with Bangladesh, hence some mischievous elements are trying to issue such threats via email to disrupt the atmosphere of India. He assures that the police are continuously working in order to resolve the matter.
DGP Yadav details that three accused have been arrested in Lucky Oberoi murder case and an intensive search is on to locate the main shooter who still remains at large. He gave his assurance that the main accused will also be apprehended soon.
