

In a major development, the country’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI) tower is set to be built in Mohali, where approximately 300 AI-based companies from India and abroad. As per reports all the legal formalities for the same have been completed and it is being anticipated that not only software, but other AI related products will also be developed here. This comes as a big hope and is projected to strenghthen Punjab’s start-ups.
Reportedly, this multi-crore AI tower will be built in the ‘Expo City’ near Chandigarh International Airport. This ‘Expo City’ is being developed on 183.5 acres of land. As per reports, the project is proposed on land belonging to the villages of Rudka, Dharamgarh, Shafipur and Ladiali. A high-level joint committee of officials have been handed over the responsibility to oversee the operations.
Reportedly, Section 4 and Section 6 notifications were issued on Friday while Section 11 notification will be issued within a month or two, following which all buying and selling will be prohibited in the Expo City area.
It is being anticipated that this venture will bag many new opportunities for Punjab. The AI Tower and Expo City project will create thousands of jobs and opportunities for Punjab residents. Engineers, data scientists, software developers, research analysts, cyber experts, as well as the hospitality, transport, retail, and maintenance sectors will also benefit significantly by this. The Punjab government believes this will reduce youth migration and provide them with global opportunities within their own state.
GMADA has notified a special land pooling policy for the Expo City project. Landowners whose land will be acquired will be given 800 square yards of commercial area (SCO) within Expo City for every 1 acre. This will provide landowners with direct economic benefits from the premium commercial hub.
