Early political trends from states like Assam, Puducherry and especially West Bengal have triggered fresh discussion in Punjab’s political circles as on one hand while counting and results are still being reported by the Election Commission early indications suggest strong performance by major national parties including the BJP in some regions and political observers say this momentum could influence strategies ahead of Punjab Assembly elections 2027.

However there is no official link between election outcomes in other states and ongoing investigations in Punjab but still analysts believe that political confidence at the national level often reflects in how central agencies and parties operate in states.

ED & CBI to be more active

In Punjab major investigations are already underway in high-profile corruption cases and the issues involving suspended Punjab Police DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar and co-accused Krishanu Sharda have seen increased action by the agencies and this might amplify more now as the Enforcement Directorate and Central Bureau of Investigation have stepped up their probe in a bribery case.

Other ED-linked cases under watch

The ED had also recently conducted searches linked to businessman Sanjeev Arora and Ashok Mittal while Arora continues to remain under scrutiny Mittal later joined the BJP after the raids took place.
